Ex. 1: Conservation and Biodiversity Worldwide
Roll over the map to view the percentage of land each country has conserved for biodiversity. The opaque gray areas represent “biodiversity hotspots,” where there is a high level of biodiversity and rapid species loss. This “wraparound” world map allows you to easily view and compare differences in conservation land percentages between regions.
Ex. 2: Extreme Precipitation Events 1980-2099
This map shows the number of extreme precipitation events (>4 inches rain in 48 hours) projected to occur over the next several decades based on the high emissions scenario developed by Dr. Cameron Wake at the University of New Hampshire. This map was produced on behalf of the UNH Sustainability Institute.
